Syracuse, N.Y. - Some tense moments this morning as a fire broke out at the Parkside Commons apartment complex on Westmoreland Ave in Syracuse.
A little after 8 crews responded to the apartment blaze on the 3rd floor.
Flames and smoke could be seen billowing from the band the heavy smoke conditions trapped several people on that floor.
Firefighters were able to rescue them and they were evaluated by EMTs at the scene. One woman was hospitalized.
The fire was under control within 20 minutes and investigation continues to find the cause.
