Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon has announced that County Health Commissioner Dr. Indu Gupta is leaving her post.
Gupta has been in that position for the last seven and a half years helping the county through several public health crises and secured the departments’ first accreditation from the National Public Health Accreditation Board.
Dr. Gupta’s last day will be July 1st. There will now be a nationwide search to find a new Health Commissioner.
County Executive McMahon is to hold press conference regarding her departure this afternoon.
