Three Arrested After Trying To Run From Onondaga County Sheriffs

Syracuse, N.Y - Three have been arrested after trying to run from Onondaga County Sheriffs.

Last night just after midnight, Deputies saw a vehicle traveling without headlights on Henry Clay Blvd and tried to stop it but the vehicle sped off.

They lost sight of the vehicle only to find it abandoned a short time later.

Air 1 and K9 units were called in and the suspects were found in a wooded area.

39 year old James Dougherty from North Syracuse, 35 year old Zachary Grant of Martville and 28 year old Sarah Fletcher of Syracuse were found in possession of heroin, molly, and fentanyl.

The vehicle was stolen from Rome and had one license plate stolen from a vehicle that was in a DESTINY USA parking lot.

All three were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd and 7th degree, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle 3rd degree and criminal possession of stolen property 4th degree.

Dougherty was also issued traffic tickets for aggravated unlicensed operation in the 3rd Degree, reckless driving, unlicensed operator, improper plates and driving with no headlamps.
