Syracuse, N.Y. - A former Cicero School teacher will spend 2-6 years in state prison for the shooting death of his Brother-in-law.
60 year old James Ball was sentenced today for shooting 40-year-old Christopher Ross to death the night of July 4 back in 2017.
Ball claimed it was self defense as the two were in the middle of a brutal argument when the shooting took place.
Ball pleaded guilty in December to reckless manslaughter to avoid a murder trial that could have left him in prison for life.
The defense wanted five years probation, while the prosecution wanted 3-9 years.
