It's true. I've never seen "The Godfather." I admitted it on-the-air this morning and listeners are ready to cancel me.
A listener said, "When I told my wife you'd never seen The Godfather, her response was "I don't know how you can even listen to him any more." There's a one night showing to celebrate the 50th Anniversary. Originally, I'd heard it would be on 2/22. Fandango now says 2/25, so I don't know. I first saw it in the theater, 50 years ago, when I was 12. I probably watch it twice a year, and I've read the novel numerous times."
I know the story. I know the characters. I've seen clips. The horse haunts me from my childhood and I'm not sure why I saw that scene. Maybe it's time to watch the movie.
