Schoharie, N.Y. - An upstate Congressman has sent the FBI a letter asking the agency to reveal details about an informant who also owned the limousine involved in a deadly crash more than three years ago.
Congressman Paul Tonko says he wants more information about how the FBI interacted with Shahed Hussain, after recent media coverage alleged federal agents have protected him for years. Tonko says he isn't aware of any wrongdoing but believes family and friends of the victims deserve to know the truth.
The 2018 accident took the lives of 20 people, including a SUNY Oswego professor. The FBI says it has received Tonko's letter but had no further comment.
