Onondaga County See A Slight Uptick In COVID Cases

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County reported 1,448 new cases of COVID today. Yesterday there were 1,405 new cases reported.

Currently according to County Executive Ryan McMahon there are 6,722 active cases.

Two more people died a man and a woman both in their 60's.

There are 223 people in the Hospital battling the virus, 39 if them in the ICU.

There 39 new hospital admissions of which McMahon said, 46% were unvaccinated.

Today, Onondaga County began to distribute 21,000 high quality masks to schools in the county and tomorrow they will deliver 60,000 of those masks to facilities where vulnerable people live, nursing homes and long term care facilities.
