Mexico BOCES To Go Remote Tuesday After School Shooting Threat

Mexico, N.Y. - Mexico BOCES students will be studying from home tomorrow after a school shooting threat that took place today.

The school learned of the threat by a student and school resource officers removed them from the campus. While Oswego County Deputies were investigating they found three suspicious people in a car in the parking lot of the school. Inside the car they found two handguns and drug paraphernalia.

They arrested 27 year old Joshua Paoni of Cicero for having a gun on school grounds and endangering the welfare of a child. The other two occupants were students.

No word on if there's a connection between those in the car and the threat.

The school decided to be safe and switch to remote learning today for the MEXICO campus only.
