Embattled SUNY Chancellor James Malatras Quits

Albany, N.Y. - Embattled SUNY Chancellor James Malatras has quit

He resigned this morning following outrage over his smearing of one of of the accusers of disgraced ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Others rose concerns about the toxic work environment he creates.

Malatras was a long-time confidante to Cuomo. Calls had been growing over the past weeks for his ouster.

On Wednesday, more than 30 Assembly members signed onto a letter calling for his resignation or firing.
