East Syracuse, N.Y. - A Mattydale Woman pleads guilty in a workers compensation fraud case
New York State Inspector General office says 45 year old Kelly Gersbacher, lied to doctors about arm injuries and stole over $19 thousand dollars in workers’ compensation and company-provided benefits while she worked as a technician for Verizon.
Gersbacher was videoed exercising and lifting weights despite her claims of being unable to work.
As part of a plea deal, Gersbacher admitted to falsifying records, paid back the money and was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge.
