Syracuse, N.Y. - U.S. Representative John Katko had some good news for the Syracuse Police department today.
Kakto announced the department will receive over $323 thousand dollars in Federal funds from the Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
That money will be used to help Syracuse Police Department to expand community policing and crisis intervention initiatives.
Mayor Ben Walsh just recently procured $554,000 some of which will help the SPD be better trained to deal with people with a range of mental health and disability conditions.
