Plane Makes Emergency Landing At Griffiss Airport In Rome

Rome, N.Y. - Some tense moments in the air above Rome this afternoon

Oneida County Sheriffs say a small plane had to make an emergency landing at Griffiss International Airport.

Shortly after take off around 12:30, the prop on the plane, a Velocity XLRG5, had a minor mechanical problem forcing the pilot, 67 year old Enrique Carrasco, of Jupiter, Florida, to make an emergency landing.

The pilot and his two passengers landed safely without any injuries.
