Gov. Hochul Sets Deadline For Agencies To Create Transparency Standards

Albany, N.Y. - Governor Hochul's office has set a deadline for state agencies to create a new set of standards that will increase the transparency of their work.

The Buffalo News reports those offices have until October 20th to reveal the changes which could include things such as having agency officials take part in more public meetings and making more information available online. The governor's office is also suggesting agencies speed up the process of fulfilling Freedom of Information Law requests.

Shortly after taking office last month, the governor said she wanted people to believe in government again.
