Onondaga County Recommends COVID-19 Policies For Schools

Syracuse, NY - Onondaga County officials will be recommending health and safety policies to schools in an effort to protect students and staff from COVID-19.

County Executive Ryan McMahon says those suggestions will include testing for the coronavirus and screening people for symptoms of the illness before letting anyone inside of a school. The county Health Department is still looking into data regarding mask-wearing and social distancing. School districts can also come up with their own rules since the county won't be making any guidance mandatory.

Last week, the state announced they would not be providing guidelines to schools on how to conduct COVID-19 protocols.
