Onondaga County Has 58 New COVID-19 Cases, Close To 300,000 Vaccinated

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon announcing today that there were 58 new cases of COVID in the county. Yesterday he announced 75 new cases.

McMahon says that 26% of the cases are household contacts. There are 26 residents in the hospital with 6 in the ICU. He was happy again to announce no deaths to report. He emphasized again that if people have symptoms they need to get a test

He said yesterday the county tested 205 asymptomatic people and there were no positive cases. McMahon said this is good thing as it shows, the current uptick is symptomatic spread. He said "we need to test and box in the virus as we work through this current uptick in cases."

McMahon said CNY had 883 new 1st dose shots over the last 24 hours and the county is getting close to 300 thousand residents vaccinated.
