Syracuse, N.Y. - Gas prices remain high.
The average price for a gallon nationwide is 3.17, and a year ago it was 2.20. Our state average is 3.20 and a year ago was 2.27.
AAA says the increase in people driving post pandemic, is one of the major causes of the price increase.
The good news there has not been as change in price for Buffalo, Syracuse, Rome, or Rochester over the past week.
AAA says don't expect to see a drop anytime soon as oil prices remain above 70 dollars a barrel.
