Onondaga County To Offer COVID Cash To Filmmakers, Others

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon announcing today that the county will use 5 million dollars in COVID relief money as an incentive for film, television and large advertising companies to work in the county.

McMahon said that applicants will be required to complete 70% of their production work, and spend at least $1.5 million in the county in order to obtain a rebate of 25 percent on the lodging meals, entertainment and retail purchases, up to $300,000 per year.

The county is expected to receive about 89 million dollars in Federal aid.
