Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Common Council passes law to crack down on off road vehicles on city streets.
The new law allows Syracuse Police to impound off-road vehicles operated illegally within the city and charge the owners $2,000 to get them back after proving that the vehicles are registered.
There are fines as well from $500 for a first offense, up to $1,000 for the third offense which can also land someone in jail for a year.
Mayor Ben Walsh will most likely sign it pending a public hearing.
