An $ 8.5 million contract for the Syracuse Police Department has been approved by an arbitrator.
The agreement would keep most of the original proposal for the department. The contract would give pay raises for officers that have served for over 20 years, give bonus pay to officers that speak other languages or have served in the military, and would require rookie officers to live in the city of Syracuse.
