Gov Cuomo Says SUNY/CUNY Students Must Be Vaccinated Before The Fall

New York, N.Y. - Governor Cuomo today announced that New York's COVID positivity rate has fallen. He said the state positivity rate has fallen 58% over the last month.

He says vaccination rate is now "the most important metric to watch", and that almost 17 million doses of vaccine have been given out and 60% of NYers have had at least one dose, but he warned the vaccination rate is declining.

He announced that before the Fall, all SUNY and CUNY students must be vaccinated.

Cuomo also said he will propose a law to stop any discrimination against people who get the vaccine. He relayed a story of a situation with summer camps that are saying if you are vaccinated you are not allowed to attend or work at the summer camp.

When asked about the Attorney General investigation, Cuomo said it's a "review" and again tried and to cast doubt on its legitimacy.

He said, "I don't want to comment on the ongoing review. And I think everybody's aware of politics in Albany and political realities."
