Onondaga County Legislators To Vote On Body Cameras Tuesday

The Onondaga County Legislature is set to vote Tuesday on a funding request to equip sheriff's deputies with body cameras.

County Executive Ryan McMahon is asking for $606K to be spent this year, far less than the $954K proposed by Sheriff Gene Conway. The difference in the spending proposals is due to Conway wanting to put the recording devices not only on deputies, but also jail workers and civil employees in his office.
