New York State's representation in Congress will be a bit smaller based on some of the first results of the 2020 Census.
Right now, the state has 27 Congressional Districts, but that number will be dropping to 26 starting in 2022 due to the new population data. Had 89 more residents been counted, the state would've kept its current number of seats on Capitol Hill. NY is one of seven states losing a member of Congress as a result of the 2020 census.
