Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon announced today they will be partnering with the Syracuse Mets to offer testing before home games.
Syracuse Met's season home opener is May 4th, the first pitch slated for 6:35 pm, with testing available from 1-7 pm. Fans should plan accordingly as the results may take up to 30 minutes. Governor Cuomo has announced that stadiums can now increase their capacity to 33%. People will need to preregister and can do so at ongov.net.
McMahon also announced that COVID-19 numbers look good. Just 44 new cases of COVID to report, 42 people in the hospital with 9 in ICU both those numbers down.
An 86 year old woman did die. He said the rolling 7-day average is 1.4%. He said it's interesting to note that 93% of the current COVID cases are in people under 59, 41% of the cases in ages 0-19.
He also said they will be busy this week, going to several High Schools vaccinating those who are eligible.
