Syracuse, N.Y. - It was an experimental program, designed to give local restaurants a boost in business after suffering heavily during the pandemic and it worked very well!
Onondaga County kicked off their gift card matching program this morning and it's already sold out!!
Customers who purchased a gift card at participating local restaurants will have the value matched by the county up to 100 hundred dollars.
The county had set aside 500 thousand dollars for the program.
Vouchers purchased today are good until May 10th.
County Executive Ryan McMahon says they may look at doing it again.
