Governor Cuomo Raises Capacity Limits For Some Venues In NY

Albany, N.Y. - Governor Cuomo announcing today some loosening of more restrictions.

Cuomo said Zoos and Museums can increase capacity to 50% and Movie Theaters increase to 33% capacity beginning April 26. He also announced Indoor Large Arenas will be raised to 25 % beginning May 19th

He also signed into law a bill raising state income taxes by $4.3 Billion dollars a year, that also trims middle-class rates and creates a property tax rebate program. He again urged Congress to repeal SALT.

Regarding COVID-19, he said the state's positivity rate stands at 2.9%, the lowest since November 13th. There were 44 Covid related deaths statewide and hospitalizations are declining.

He again chastised Western New York, for not taking ongoing dangers of Covid seriously enough. The Western New York Region positivity rate is at 4.7% , the state's highest
