Albany, N.Y. - Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie have announced the Legislature will pass legislation repealing the temporary emergency powers that were granted to Governor Cuomo last year immediately.
The legislation will however allow current directives pertaining to preserving the public health during the COVID 19 pandemic to continue.
Fifteen days after it goes into effect, all current suspensions and directives will be posted on a website
The Governor will be required to notify Senate and Assembly committee chairs and others if he wants to modify or extend any restrictions.
