Ithaca Mayor Proposes Replacing Entire Police Department

The Mayor of Ithaca has unveiled a new plan to reform his police department- by replacing it entirely.

The plan would involve a mix of armed public safety workers and unarmed community solution workers, who would all report to an executive director instead of a police chief. All officers currently employed with the police department would have to reapply for the new positions.
