Gov Cuomo: Open Up Schools, Visitations At Nursing Homes Will Resume

Albany, N.Y. - Gov Cuomo giving a briefing today announcing all the numbers look good.

The positivity rate stands at 3.4 %, the 7-day average is down to 3.6%. Hospitalizations down all across the state.

He said schools should reopen all across the state. He said remote learning is damaging students and parents. He also called it discriminatory.

Cuomo announced that the State Department of Health will release information and protocols for allowing visitations to resume at nursing homes. Visitors will need to take a rapid test and he said those will be provided to the nursing homes by the state.

He fell far short of an apology regarding the nursing home controversy, by saying he was not aggressive enough in hitting back against the misinformation quickly enough.

He said by not putting the data out quickly enough, they created a void that was exploited by his opponents.

He announced 116 more people died in the state.
