Onondaga County officials announcing new guidelines for quarantines within schools.
Depending on the layout of the classroom, students and staff may not need to quarantine if an asymptomatic case is reported. In symptomatic cases, anyone who was in the same room with an infected person for two hours or more will need to quarantine for two weeks. In regards to gym and lunch, only those in close contact with the student will need to quarantine.
Rules could vary based on vaccination rates and other factors.
