Schenectady, N.Y. - Two major grocery chains have decided to merge.
Price Chopper/Market 32 and Tops Markets announcing today that they have entered into a merger agreement that nearly doubles their footprint in the Northeast.
This combines two iconic New York-based grocery chains and with this merger, the two companies say in a press release they "are expected to be better positioned to compete and offer even more value and outstanding services to their customers across the Northeast."
The new parent company will be headquartered in Schenectady, NY
