Gov Cuomo Announces New York "POPS UP" To Help The Arts

Albany, N.Y. - The COVID numbers in NY continue to look good State Positivity rate 4.2 %, 114 people died. Hospitalizations were up 67 but ICU and intubations are down.

Governor Cuomo says that this week is the last week for hospital staff to start the processing of vaccinations. Next week those remaining doses of vaccine will go to those who have co-morbidities. Those people will need to provide proof that they qualify.

Cuomo also announced NY "POPS UP", 100 days of 300 plus pop-up art events all across the state starting later this month. These pop-ups will not be advertised to prevent mass gatherings. He said the arts industry has taken a big hit from the pandemic and many have been out of work since March.

He also said indoor dining in NYC will begin Friday at 25% capacity. That date is a change from the original Valentine's Day start date.
