Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon Says Still Good News On COVID

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon announcing numbers today in the fight against COVID 19.

He said there are 101 new cases, 125 hospitalizations, 34 people in ICU. He said active cases stand at 1,966 and the 7 day average positivity rate is at 2.7%, the lowest since November 8th.

Mcmahon said he does not have immediate plans to expand vaccine eligibility under Phase 1B after Governor Cuomo said local governments could expand 1B eligibility to include restaurant workers, taxi driver, and those living or working in congregate settings for people with developmental disabilities.

McMahon said the 630 appointments that were available for tomorrow at the Oncenter, were all snapped up within 15 minutes today.
