Hannibal Woman Charged With Grand Larceny After Faking Robbery

Williamstown, N.Y. - A woman has been arrested for Grand Larceny after faking an armed robbery.

Around 10:30 the night of December 7th, Kathryn E. Smith of Hannibal, called State Police,saying she was robbed outside of the Family Dollar store in Williamstown.

Smith who isthe store manager said she was getting into her vehicle when a man displayed a knife and reportedly stoled 3 thousand dollars and ran away.

After awhile Troopers located the money. It was hidden inside Smith's vehicle.

She faces Grand Larceny 3rd degree, a class “D” felony, and Falsely Reporting an Incident 3rd degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.

She was arraigned in Williamstown Town Court and remanded to the Oswego County Jail without bail.
