Syracuse, N.Y. - Loretto nursing home is dealing with an outbreak of coronavirus among 18 residents.
The breakout was allegedly caused by an employee who was asymptomatic. The 18 residents, who all live on the same floor, have been moved to a specialized coronavirus isolation unit at Loretto. It will be staffed by employees who work exclusively in that unit.
Its assumed the employee was exposed in between Lorretto's testing days.
Loretto has now issued a requirment that all employees wear gowns, gloves and face shields when they are working with residents anywhere in the building.
