Onondaga County Ballot Counting To Remain On Hold

Syracuse, N.Y. - The counting of absentee ballots in Onondaga coiunty will remain on pause.

Elections Commissioner Dustin Czarny, announced today that due to spreading cases of covid among their staff, the Onondaga County Board of elections will remain closed.

It looks like the counting of the ballots could be on hold until after Thanksgiving.

Several workers at the Onondaga County Board of Elections have tested positive for COVID-19 since Friday.

Both Elections Commissioners have tested negative.

Onondaga County still has roughly 27000 ballots left to be counted.
