Quarantined 14 Days

I got the first call Tuesday. The doctor's office said I may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in their office on Monday. I was told to quarantine for 14 days. There was some mention of a follow up call coming with more information.

After a few phone calls to iHeart managers, equipment was quickly delivered to my home. This morning, I did my entire show from my dining room. Ironically, my dining room looked like a studio from March until September - just in case. I preferred to be in our real studio in Franklin Square and eventually returned the equipment. Just last week, I suggested that maybe we explore being prepared in my home again - just in case. Boom. Here we are.

Late this afternoon, I got the call from NYS Contact Tracing. They too said I must quarantine for 14 days. They also recommend getting tested, which I will likely do in a few days.

At first, I wasn't going to talk about this, but when I had County Executive Ryan McMahon on the show this morning, I was compelled to mention it. We talked about it at length. I'm not alone. Many are currently quarantined.

I received many messages of encouragement from listeners today. I'm grateful and appreciate the support from friends and coworkers. I'm fine. No symptoms. A bit of anxiety and some disappointment having to miss my son's remaining soccer games. But, it is what it is.
