Oriskany, N.Y. - Onieda County jail is dealing with a COVID outbreak.
The Sheriffs office says that 10 inmates have tested positive for COVID-19. They were amoung 43 inmates at the time of their positive test result. At this point, 29 of the 43 inmates have tested negative and they are awaiting the results from the remaining 4.
The positive inmates have been moved to the jail’s medical unit and are currently showing no symptoms.
The Sheriff’s Office is working closely with the Oneida County Health Department to attempt to determine the cause of these positive cases
