Two CNY Elementary Schools Report Positive COVID-19 Cases

Two CNY elementary schools are warning parents of potential coronavirus exposures.

Baldswinsville Superintendent Matthew McDonald informed parents Saturday that a student at Van Buren Elementary School had tested positive for COVID-19. That student was only at school on September 9th. All of the students and teachers that may have been in contact are now required to quarantine for 14 days.

In Jamesville-DeWitt, one building is delaying the start of its school year after an elementary school student also tested postive for coronavirus. The district didn't disclose if the child was in any of the buildings, but the Jamesville Elementary School will be closed today for deep cleaning and sanitizing. All other schools in the district will be open.
