5 Injured, 3 Arrested Following Violent Weekend In Syracuse

A series of stabbings and shootings left at least 5 people injured.

Police were called to five separate shooting calls Saturday night. One of those injured two men at a gas station on N State St. Both are expected to recover.

Late Saturday night, Syracuse Police responded to a stabbing on W Brighton Ave. The victim had already been transported to the hospital, but police were able to arrest a suspect near the scene. 62 year old Edward Johnson is accused of stabbing the victim in the chest.

Police were at the scene of a second stabbing about 40 minutes later on N Salina St. 44 year old Nathaniel Williams was found with a stab wound to the arm. The suspect, 32 year old Shontae Cannon, claimed that Williams damaged property at the home. Both men were arrested.

Late last night, police were called to yet another stabbing on the city's Southside. The victim had been stabbed in the leg on S Salina St around 10:45. He is listed in stable condition as of this morning.
