Onondaga County Still Grappling With Sales Tax Revenue Losses

Onondaga County officials looking at more financial woes as sales tax revenue takes another hit.

State officials gave the county $5 million to help with the drastic loss of revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The county is now looking at a $26.5 million total decrease in sales tax revenue for 2020. County Executive Ryan McMahon has been warning that draconian measures, including layoffs, were possible if Onondaga County doesn't receive federal aid.
