Syracuse Common Council Seeking Its Own Legal Counsel

The Syracuse City Common Council is looking to hire its own counsel... that is, its own legal counsel.

The proposal would help give the Common Counsel additional abilities to help pass legislation in a more timely manner. Proponents of the plan say that in the past, they've had to share legal services with the Mayor's office, which caused issues when that lawyer wasn't available. The Counsel looks to reevaluate reforms that have previously been difficult to pass.
