The Onondaga County Legislature has voted against redrawing the county's legislative districts.
The vote was made along party lines, with the Republican majority deciding not to add the proposed amendment to the ballot in November. Many proponents of the plan argued that the plan would provide better representation within each district. Legislative Chairman Dave Knapp said that he and the Republican caucus will present the Legislature with their own plan for redistricting next week.
