Albany, N.Y. - Gov. Andrew Cuomo during a conference call today, was asked about the future of the New York State Fair
Cuomo responded the state is “not in a position" to go through with the New York State Fair this summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cuomo said “Right now, we can’t say that it's going ahead, but they’re watching very closely,” Cuomo said it not officially canceled but rather the state is working on a date to communicate opening or closing the Fair.
Cuomo said “It breaks my heart,”.
The Fair is scheduled to begin August 21st just 55 days from now.
