A Heat Advisory In Effect For 6 Counties

Syracuse, N.Y. - A Heat Advisory has been issued for Wayne, Ontario, Northern Cayuga, Oswego, Jefferson, and Lewis counties until 7 today.

A heat advisory means that excessive heat has the potential to cause heat illness' such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

As always during aheat advisory:

  • Drink plenty of fluids.
  • Stay out of the sun and in an air-conditioned room if possible.
  • If outside, take frequent breaks and know the signs of heat stroke & exhaustion.
  • Check on the elderly and those extra sensitive to heat.
