SCSD Board To Vote On Superintendent's Contract Extension

Syracuse City School Board will be voting on a new contract for their Superintendent.

The vote will be happening during their regularly scheduled meeting today at 4. Superintendent Jaime Alicea has requested that his contract with the district be extended, but without a pay raise. His request is due to the anticipated financial fallout the district is facing from the coronavirus pandemic. If approved, Alicea's contract with SCSD would be extended until 2023.

Jaime Alicea has been the Superintendent since 2017. He's been working within the district for over 30 years.
