Albany, N.Y. - State education officials have announced a task force that will look into how to safely reopen schools in New York.
Students and faculty have been home for weeks after schools were shuttered in an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus. In a statement yesterday, the Board of Regents Chancellor said while the virus has put a tremendous stress on all Empire State residents it's time to look into how to get kids and teachers back in the classroom.
Governor Cuomo is expected to announce by Friday if schools will reopen this academic year. They're currently closed until mid-May under his New York State on PAUSE executive order.
