On Wednesday (April 8), the "Bodak Yellow" rapper took to Instagram to announce that she's teamed up with Fashion Nova to help those in need by giving away $1,000 an hour through May 20.
"I've been getting a lot of DMs of people in need, so me and Fashion Nova came up with a way that we are going to give out $1,000 an hour for the next 42 days," she shared on Instagram. "You know sometimes you give to charity and you wonder, 'hmm, is it really going to the people?' Well, we're going to make sure it's going to the people."
Cardi went on to explain how those in need can enter for a chance to win the cash before concluding her announcement video, saying, "We love you guys and we are so thankful that you have been supporting us for so long. It's time for us to support you guys back and I love you. Don't be shy. Sometimes you gotta motherf**king ask for help."
Cardi additionally captioned the post: "Thank you guys for supporting me and @FashionNova, I teamed up with them to help those that have been impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic. Earlier this week, the "Please Me" rapper gave back to those on the frontlines of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic by donating 20,000 bottles of OWYN — a plant-based, vegan meal supplement drink — to New York City-area hospitals for their medical staff and ambulance crews. A source told TMZ, Cardi "wanted to help the workers who, in most cases, don't even get a chance to eat during their shifts."
