Centro Bus Driver Tests Positive for COVID 19

Syracuse, N.Y. - A Centro employee has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a spokesperson for the company.

They say the employee is a Syracuse bus operator who last worked on Friday, March 27. The bus operator was separated from close contact with customers due to Centro's recently imposed social distancing.

Centro is working with the Onondaga County Health Department and has notified other employees of the positive test. The health department has identified those individuals who may have been exposed and is contacting them to place them under quarantine.

The bus operator drove the following routes Monday through Friday:

5:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. - 26 South Ave. and 123 James St.

9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. - 530 Westcott St.

10:45 a.m. - 3:35 p.m. - 226 South Ave. and 52 Court St.

Centro continues to disinfect each of its buses daily. In addition, bus operators have access to gloves and hand sanitizer before their shifts begin.
