Syracuse, N.Y. - County Executive Ryan McMahon is ordering the malls in Onondaga County to close -- including Destiny USA.
The order will take effect at 5:00 p.ml Wednesday. McMahon's executive order extends to ShoppingTown and Great Northern too.
Destiny is the largest mall in the State and the sixth largest in the nation. It employs 5,000 people and is a major source of sales tax revenue -- the backbone of Onondaga County's budget.
There remains only two confirmed coronavirus cases on Onondaga County. County Health officials say they believe there are many more out there that have not been confirmed. Statewide more than 1,300 people are confirmed to have contracted the virus.
