Man Released After Allegedly Beating Another Man To Death

Syracuse, N.Y. - A Syracuse man accused of punching a man to death has been released from jail due to the state's bail reform law.

31 year old Randy Bailey Jr was charged with Criminally Negligent Homicide in February, but police say that he was released because he did not meet any of the exceptions...that would have allowed for him to have been booked on the homicide charge.

In December, police were called to Shonnard St after reports of a fight broke out. 49 year old Robert Pickett initially claimed he was uninjured, but was taken to the hospital after falling unconscious, where he died. Witnesses say Bailey punched Pickett in the head before police were called to the scene.
